The fatal gun violence that followed a massive street brawl captured on video in central Toledo saddened and shocked city leaders, who lamented that witnesses to the fighting did not call police sooner. De’Asia Wallace, 20, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest in the wake of the brawl, which occurred Sunday afternoon in the 1800 block of Macomber Street, authorities said. Gunfire at the location also wounded two teens — including Emannuel Garner, 16, whom police have arrested and charged with murder and felonious assault.
Street fighting is hand-to-hand combat in public places, between individuals or groups of people.
Unlike sport fighting, a street fight might involve weapons, multiple opponents, and no rules. The venue is usually a public place (e.g. a street) and the fight sometimes results in serious injury or occasionally even death.
The main difference between street fighting and a self defense situation is that a street fight is avoidable, whereas a self-defense situation is not. The other main difference is that the fight is consensual between both parties.
